Hey savvies! Welcome back to another episode of the podcast. In today’s episode, we’re chatting about the importance of building an email list for your podcast.
As I have mentioned on the podcast a few times before, podcasting is sort of a one-way street if you don’t take the time to direct your listeners elsewhere like a Facebook group, in your DMs, to join your email list, etc. So having somewhere else you can direct your listeners to is key.
There are so many ways to build a community from your podcast but today we’re going to focus on the email list building route.
So first up, the benefits of having an email list for your podcast:
–You can alert your listeners when new episodes are live.
–You can actually have a conversation with your audience via email.
–You can then share further offers with your listeners once they are on your list.
An email list is a great way to further connect with your podcast listeners. The best way to get people to sign up for your email list is by sharing free offers on the show.
What you’ll do is talk about your relevant free offer and send them to a podcast-specific URL (for tracking purposes) and then they’ll enter their name and email address and then they will officially be on your email list.
From here, you’ll be able to further engage with them not only about your new podcast episodes but also other happenings in your business. Once they are on your list, they are engaged leads so it’s up to you to continue nurturing them and priming them to buy your upcoming offers, whatever those may be.
You can start off with a welcome email thanking them for signing up for your freebie, doing a quick little self-selecting survey so you know what kinds of content they want to hear from you, and then from there, they will be able to get customized content from you addressing their specific needs.
So I want to know, do you currently have an email list that you use as a growth tool for your podcast?
That’s all for today’s episode. I’d love for you to hit me up in my DMs on Instagram and let me know how you’re planning on repurposing your podcast episodes in the coming months. Head here to check out the shownotes. I’ll see you in the next episode.
